Dynamic lines, not static.

Botulinum toxin type A is a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the overactive muscles behind dynamic expression lines — the creases that appear when you move. Easing the muscle pull smooths the skin above and helps stop those lines etching in deeper over time.

It works best on dynamic lines. Static lines — visible even at rest — may soften but often need collagen-stimulating treatments or fillers as well. Common points include the forehead, frown (glabellar) and crow’s-feet lines, plus muscular uses such as jaw slimming (masseter), chin dimpling, neck bands and excessive sweating.

What to expect in a session.

Anaesthetic cream usually isn’t needed — the needles are very fine and discomfort is minimal. The doctor maps the target muscles and places precise injections; the whole treatment takes 15–30 minutes. Avoid lying flat or massaging the area for four hours afterwards.

Effects build over 7–14 days, and a two-week review lets the doctor fine-tune. We dose conservatively to keep expression natural.

Botulinum Toxin FAQ

How long do the effects last?

Results typically last three to six months, depending on the area treated, the dose, and individual factors such as muscle mass and metabolism. After the effects wear off, muscle activity gradually returns and retreatment is required to maintain results.

When will I see results?

Most patients begin to notice relaxation of the treated muscles within two to three days. Full results are visible at approximately two weeks. A review appointment is typically offered at two weeks to assess the outcome.

Is the treatment painful?

Most patients report minimal discomfort. The injections use very fine needles and the volume injected at each point is small. Anaesthetic cream is generally not required, though it can be provided on request. The procedure is typically complete in 15 to 30 minutes.

Are there any side effects?

When administered by a trained doctor at appropriate doses, the treatment is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include mild bruising, redness or swelling at injection sites — these are temporary. Rare side effects include temporary asymmetry, brow heaviness or eyelid drooping, which resolve as the product wears off. Your doctor will discuss risks during consultation.

Who is a suitable candidate?

Suitable for adults in good general health seeking to reduce dynamic wrinkles or address conditions such as jaw slimming or excessive sweating. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for individuals with certain neuromuscular conditions, or those with known hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin products. A medical consultation is required.

Can I combine this with other treatments?

Yes. Botulinum toxin is frequently combined with dermal fillers, skin boosters or energy-based treatments as part of a comprehensive rejuvenation plan. The combination approach addresses dynamic wrinkles while also treating volume loss, skin quality and static lines. Your doctor will advise on appropriate combinations based on your goals.

Will it look natural?

When administered by an experienced doctor at appropriate doses, results should appear natural — softening expressions without eliminating them. The goal is to reduce the depth of lines and relax overactive muscles while preserving natural facial movement. Your doctor will discuss your aesthetic goals and tailor the treatment accordingly.
