Polynucleotide (PN) Skin Booster
A polynucleotide (PN) injectable that activates the skin's natural repair and regeneration process. Improves skin tone, elasticity, fine lines and overall skin quality from within. Administered by MOH-licensed doctors at our Orchard and Tampines clinics.
How polynucleotides work.
A polynucleotide (PN) injectable delivering PDRN molecules from highly purified salmon DNA. Injected into the dermis, they bind adenosine receptors on fibroblasts and set off a cascade of tissue repair — more fibroblast activity, increased collagen and elastin synthesis, and better cellular metabolism.
The result is gradual, genuine improvement in texture, firmness, hydration and radiance as the skin’s structural proteins rebuild from within over a treatment course — which is why it’s used for early ageing, dullness and post-sun recovery.
What to expect in a session.
Numbing cream first, then superficial microinjections across the face with fine needles; the session takes about 30–45 minutes.
Mild redness, small papules at injection sites and minor swelling are normal and usually settle within one to two days.
Polynucleotide (PN) Skin Booster FAQ
Who is suitable for Polynucleotide (PN) Skin Booster?
Polynucleotide (PN) Skin Booster may be suitable for individuals who wish to improve skin hydration, texture, or elasticity. Suitability depends on your skin condition, medical history, and expectations. A consultation with our doctor is required to determine if this treatment is appropriate for you.
How many sessions are usually recommended?
It is typically performed as a series of treatments. Many doctors recommend 3–4 sessions at intervals of about 3–4 weeks. Maintenance sessions may be suggested every 6–12 months, depending on your skin needs. The exact schedule will be decided after medical assessment.
What can I expect during the procedure?
The treatment involves multiple micro-injections into the skin using very fine needles. The procedure is performed in a clinic setting by a registered medical practitioner. Mild swelling, redness, or small bumps may appear temporarily and usually subside within a few days.
Is there downtime?
Most people may experience mild and temporary side effects such as redness, swelling, or small visible bumps at the injection sites. These typically resolve within a few days. Your doctor will advise you on aftercare instructions.
How soon will I see results?
Improvements in skin texture and hydration usually develop gradually over several weeks, as the skin undergoes repair and regeneration. Results vary between individuals.
How does PN Skin Booster differ from a hyaluronic acid (HA) skin booster?
HA skin boosters work by attracting and retaining water molecules in the dermis for immediate plumping and hydration. PN Skin Booster works at a cellular level — polynucleotides activate fibroblast receptors and stimulate the skin's own regeneration pathways, producing cumulative improvements in skin quality, elasticity and texture over the treatment course. PN boosters are generally preferred when the goal is long-term skin repair and renewal rather than immediate surface hydration alone. Your doctor can advise on which is more suited to your skin concerns.
Is PN Skin Booster suitable for post-acne skin, sun-damaged skin or sensitive skin?
Yes. The tissue-repair mechanism of polynucleotides makes PN Skin Booster particularly suited to skin that has been compromised by acne (including post-inflammatory marks and uneven texture), chronic sun exposure, or inflammation-related sensitivity. PDRN supports subclinical skin repair — the kind of low-grade collagen and cellular damage that accumulates from repeated breakouts or UV exposure — making it a useful complement to other post-acne or skin repair treatments.
