Pores & Texture
Enlarged pores and rough skin surface are typically the visible signs of deeper dermal changes — loss of collagen support, sun damage, and sebaceous activity. Treatment targets the underlying structure rather than the surface.
Why pores look the way they do.
Pore size comes down to genetics, oil-gland activity, sun damage, and the collagen support around each pore. The “stretched” look that builds over time is mostly lost support — not the pore growing.
Treatments that rebuild dermal collagen — RF microneedling, picosecond laser, thulium resurfacing — typically refine pore appearance and texture. Results build over a course of sessions.
Treatments we use most.
- Picosecond Laser — refines surface texture and tightens visible pores via collagen remodelling.
- Fractional RF Microneedling (Morpheus 8®) — RF at depth rebuilds dermal collagen and remodels texture from within.
- Thulium Fractional Laser (Lavieen®) — fractional resurfacing for refinement and even tone.
Pores & Texture FAQ
Can enlarged pores be permanently shrunk?
Not entirely — pore size is partly genetic and tied to sebum and elasticity. Treatment can noticeably reduce apparent pore size through collagen remodelling and surface refinement, but maintenance is usually needed.
What makes pores look bigger over time?
Sebum oxidation, dead-skin build-up in the opening, loss of collagen support around the pore, and sun damage. Treatments that rebuild dermal collagen typically improve how pores look.
How long until I see results?
Surface improvement is often visible within 1–2 weeks, while collagen remodelling continues for 3–6 months after each session. Multi-session protocols are typical.
