Volume restores structure.

A dense, high-cohesive hyaluronic acid (HA) filler for the deeper tissue planes, where a soft surface filler can’t give structural support. Volume loss is a root cause of an aged or tired look — as fat compartments in the cheeks, temples and lower face shrink, skin sags and lines deepen.

Restoring volume in the correct anatomical layers addresses that at its source. This filler has high stiffness (G prime) and holds its shape under pressure when placed deep against bone or within deep fat — lifting the mid-face, cheeks and jawline and supporting deep folds. Using the wrong product in the wrong plane is a common cause of unnatural results.

What to expect in a session.

After numbing cream, the filler is injected into the deep planes with a fine needle or blunt-tipped cannula; treatment takes 30–45 minutes. Results are visible immediately and settle over about two weeks.

Moderate swelling and occasional bruising are normal and usually resolve within three to five days. The result is gradually reversible as the body metabolises the HA.

Volume HA Filler FAQ

What is the difference between an HA volume filler and a soft HA filler?

HA volume filler has a high G' prime (stiffness) and high cohesivity, designed for deep tissue planes to provide structural support and volume. A soft HA filler has low stiffness and is used for superficial areas to smooth fine lines. Using the appropriate product in the correct tissue layer is critical for a safe and natural result.

Where is HA volume filler typically injected?

HA volume filler is injected deep — typically in the sub-SMAS plane, on or above the periosteum, or within deep fat compartments of the cheeks, temples and jawline. These are anatomically complex areas requiring thorough knowledge of facial anatomy. Your doctor at IVI Medical Clinic will map injection points before any treatment.

How much swelling or bruising should I expect?

Mild to moderate swelling is expected for the first two to three days following treatment. Bruising is possible, particularly in the cheek and jawline areas. Most patients can return to work within one to three days. Final results settle within two weeks as the swelling resolves.

How long does HA volume filler last?

In the mid-face and cheeks, HA volume filler typically lasts 12 to 18 months. Individual metabolism, lifestyle and the volume injected all influence duration. Touch-up treatments are available to maintain the result over time.

Can HA volume filler be dissolved if I am unhappy with the result?

Yes. As with all hyaluronic acid fillers, HA volume filler can be partially or fully dissolved with hyaluronidase. This flexibility is one of the principal safety advantages of HA-based products compared with permanent volumisers.
