Continuous-wave RF delivers sustained heat for collagen remodelling, tightening, pores and acne scars. Using both, the doctor tailors the treatment to your mix of concerns.
What to expect in a session.
Numbing cream goes on 30–45 minutes beforehand, then the device is applied systematically with depth and intensity adjusted per zone — a warm, prickling sensation. A full face takes about 30–45 minutes.
Skin is red and slightly warm afterwards, with most people back to normal activities within one to three days.

Does RF Microneedling hurt?
Most patients describe RF Microneedling as tolerable rather than painful. A numbing cream is usually applied before the treatment to help minimise discomfort. During the procedure, you may feel mild heat or a light prickling sensation as the microneedles deliver radiofrequency energy into the skin.
What skin concerns can RF Microneedling help with?
Patients often consider RF Microneedling when they want to improve concerns such as acne scars, enlarged pores, skin redness or rosacea-prone skin, uneven skin texture, fine lines, and skin laxity. How many sessions do I need, and does it differ by concern?
For general skin quality, enlarged pores and mild texture improvement, a course of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is commonly recommended. For melasma and vascular concerns — which are primary applications of dual-wave RF microneedling — three to five sessions may be needed, with ongoing maintenance as melasma is prone to recurrence with sun exposure. Acne scar treatment typically benefits from three to four sessions. Your doctor will recommend a session plan based on your specific combination of concerns.
Is there downtime after treatment?
Some patients may experience mild redness or slight swelling after the procedure. These effects typically improve within 1–3 days, although recovery time can vary between individuals.
When will I see results — and does the timeline differ for melasma versus acne scars?
For skin texture and pore refinement, improvement typically becomes visible after two to three sessions as collagen remodelling accumulates. For melasma, a meaningful reduction in pigmentation usually becomes noticeable from the third session onwards — melasma requires multiple sessions because it involves disrupting abnormal vascular and melanocyte activity across several skin layers. For acne scars, collagen remodelling continues for three to six months after the final session, meaning the full extent of improvement is seen gradually over time rather than immediately after treatment.
