Fractional RF Microneedling
A fractional radiofrequency microneedling device that remodels and contours the face and body by combining deep microneedling with targeted RF energy delivery. Effective for skin tightening, textural refinement and body contouring. Performed by MOH-licensed doctors at our Orchard and Tampines clinics.
Deeper than surface RF.
A fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device that pairs deep microneedle penetration with targeted RF energy in the dermis and subdermis. Reaching deeper tissue layers than surface RF is what enables genuine skin tightening, subdermal remodelling and body contouring.
The difference between RF devices is needle depth: shorter-needle RF microneedling targets the dermis for vascular concerns and melasma; surface micro-pin RF refines texture and pores; this device uses adjustable, deeper needles for structural tightening, strong collagen remodelling and contouring on the face and body.
What to expect in a session.
Numbing cream is applied 45–60 minutes beforehand. The handpiece stamps microneedles to the target depth and delivers RF as they retract, with depth and energy tuned per zone; a full face takes about 45–60 minutes.
Skin is red with visible microneedle channels afterwards, healing over two to four days; remodelling then continues for three to six months.
Fractional RF Microneedling FAQ
What is Fractional RF Microneedling?
Fractional RF Microneedling combines two simultaneous mechanisms: physical microneedling — creating micro-channels that trigger a wound-healing and collagen-synthesis response — and radiofrequency energy delivered directly into the dermis and subdermis through the needle tips. Because RF energy is deposited at controlled depths of up to 4mm, it reaches subdermal tissue and stimulates collagen contraction at a structural level. This depth distinguishes it from surface-focused RF resurfacing and makes it effective for significant skin tightening, deep acne scars, stretch marks and body contouring — results that shallower devices cannot achieve.
What concerns can it help with?
Fractional RF Microneedling may be considered for mild skin laxity (looseness), fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, certain types of acne scars, and early signs of ageing on the face, neck, or body. Our doctors will evaluate if it is appropriate for your skin type and goals.
Is there downtime after treatment?
Downtime is generally minimal. Patients may experience redness, swelling, or small microdots on the skin for a few days. Makeup and sun protection can usually be resumed after 1–2 days, based on your doctor's guidance.
Who is suitable for treatment?
It may be suitable for adults with mild to moderate skin laxity or textural concerns. It may not be recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active skin infections, or certain medical conditions. A medical consultation is necessary to confirm suitability.
How soon can I see results, and what happens at each stage?
In the first two to four weeks after each session, early collagen remodelling becomes visible as the skin tightens and texture begins to smooth. The most significant results — particularly for skin tightening and deep scar remodelling — develop over three to six months after the final session, as deep collagen continues to contract and rebuild. This delayed timeline is characteristic of deep RF stimulation: the deeper the collagen work, the longer the visible payoff takes. Patience through the full course is important for accurate assessment.
How long do the results last?
A full course of three to four sessions typically produces skin tightening results that last twelve to eighteen months. Acne scar improvements — where collagen architecture has been physically remodelled — tend to be more durable. Natural ageing continues over time, so maintenance sessions every twelve to eighteen months are recommended to sustain the structural improvements achieved.
